Winston Churchill Trust Fellowship

In 2023 I was awarded a fellowship by the Winston Churchill Trust for a project titled Exploring International Best Practice to Improve Australia's Approach to Wrongful Detention.

This fellowship took me to the US, Canada and the UK to research international best practice in wrongful detention policy, and I produced a report in 2024 which is available for download here.

Peer-reviewed papers

My published peer-reviewed research work dates from prior to my arrest in Iran in 2018. At this time my focus was on Middle East politics, particularly Bahrain and the Arab Gulf states.

In my current role as Research Fellow in the Department of Security Studies and Criminology at Macquarie University I am pursuing a research project on wrongful and arbitrary detention policy.
